SOCIAL GATHERING.
AT RA-WUTIB'A VALLEY. The members of Lho Temuka Presbyterian Bible Classes, choir, and friends of tilt; Church spent a most, ■agreeable social evening at the homestead of Mr ' and Mrs .lolvn . Davey, K.mgitirn Valley. Tin: hospitality of tin- D.ivcy family is widely known and appiv.i-iali'd, and the Church iVi.nils who basked in tho sunshine of tlieir generous JiusjJJt.ility on Thursday evening, will not readily forgot the pleasure. The proceedings look place in (ho new, commodious shed, which was beautifully dtico rated. The Davey 'Brothers opened up with an insl rimionlal trio, and this was followed by a programme of pleasing merit furnished ,'by the visitors, flames, interesting and novel, wore participated in, and the sumptuous supper was enjoyed. The happy proceedings terminated late in the evening (or to be perfectly truthful, early in the morning) with warm words of appreciation from the Rev. ('. Maodonnld and Mr A. Calder, on behalf of the visitors. On behalf of Mrs Davey, himself and family, Mr Davey suitably responded.
