Mr Quirk proposed the healths of Alj- and Mrs Boland and met with a hearty response. The pleasure of the meeting was enhanced with song and story. Mr B. WELLINGTON, Juno -1. Thu Newtown Liceusing Commitloo today granted renewals of all licenses for the ensuing year. No objection was raised. The Bruce Licensing Committee on Friday granted licenses as from the .Ist July last to the end of the present month, and recommended the local body to only charge one-twelfth license fee. Mr Cruikshank, S.M., said that a, point had been raised whether sufficient notice had been given of the annual meet ing. After hearing legal argument the committee decided, the S.M. dissenting, that it had no jurisdiction to grunt licenses after the end of the present month, as not sullicient notice of the meeting had been given. June 4. The Bruce hotelkeepers will apply next week to the Supreme Court for a mandamus comuelling the committee to renew licenses as from July Ist.
