GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of this school committee was held on Tuesday evening. Present —Messrs W. H. Walton (chairman), T. Sherratt, Gore, Boughton, and (J. E, Sherratt. The head master reported the average attendance for the quarter to date : Boys, 92 ; girls, 99 ; total, 191. Highest attendance, 215. The average weekly roll was : Boys, 113 ; girls, 128; total, 241. The attendance was getting pretty uniform—about 200, except on wet days. The average attendance, however, for a roll number of .241 should be higher than 191. It would be necessary to make some provision for the Easter holidays. The much-needed gravel path from the northward corner of the school-ground was now being laid down, and it would prove a great boon to the school in wet weather.
It was resolved that one week’s holiday be granted to the children for Easter holidays, and that the confmittee-meetiug stand adjourned for a fortnight from Wednesday, March 22nd.
