GERALDINE RIFLES.

The aunual meeting of the Geraldine Rifles was held on Tuesday pyepiug, when there was a good attendance of volunteers, and Captain E, H, Poarpoint was in the chair. BALANCE-SHEET. The secretary read the balance-sb.eet of the past year, which showed .General account; Receipts, £24 4s Od ; expenditure, £ls 7s; Credit balance, £8 17s 6d. Capitation account: Receipts, £O6 IGs 7d ; expenditure, £59 17s; credit balance, £6 19s 7d. The balance-sheet was confirmed, a,nd the captain explained that q eying to an error made by Defence Department the capitation had not come to hand, vines. It was decided that in future all fines exacted from members of the corps be handed over to thp qiatqh pqmmittee for firing purposes,. COMMITTEES. The following committees were elected : Finance Color-Sergeant Stonehouse Sergeant Brown, Bandsmen Logan and Kraus, and Privates Winefield and Bryant. TUI EG EIKING. The sum of £lO was voted from the general account to the match committee for prize firing. VOTE OE TIUNKtf. A vote qf thanks was passed to the retiring officers, to which Captain Pearpoint replied. EASTEK ENOAMTMENT. The captain stated the conditions on which the corps could attend the forthcoming Easter Encampment, and said there was a difficulty in the way owing to the Railway Department refusing to grant special trains. unite and hire a special train. He pointed out, however, that any men that were compelled to bo home by Monday, would get leave to go by Monday’s express. A show of hands was taken, and tho required number of men thereby sig nified their intention of going on these conditions. It was decided to at once order the new Karkhee hats, and a vote of thanks to the captain concluded the meeting.
