CROWN LAND REVENUE.

The Crown land revenue for the September quarter was £61,393 4s Bd, land for the June quarter £53,972 13s Id, making- a total of £115,365 ;17s 9d, TW territorial revenue for the September quarter was £52,618 7s 3d, and for the June quarter £20,475 12s Id, making a total of £73,093 19s 4d, to which will have to be added pastoral rents receivable during the last quarter of the financial year. The estimated land revenue for the year was £114,295, so that the revenue received for the first six months of the year exceeds the total estimate of the year by £lO7 17s i9d. The total amount of Crown land open for selection throughout the colony on 30th September last was 956,347 acres, distributed as follows ;—Auckland, 297,013 acres; Wellington, 137,843 acres ; Nelson, 135,999 acres ; Southland, 103,309 acres ; Westland, 87,750 acres; Otago. 67,671 acres; Taranaki, 37,859 acres; Hawkes Bay, 34,635 acres; Marlborough, 10,700 acres; Canterbury, 44,068 acres. The Crown lands selected during the quarter ending 30lh September were : For cash, 126 purchasers, 34,066 acres taken up ; on aetllement conditions, 350 selectors, 161,148 acres. For the half year ending the same date there were 285 purchases for cash, taking 69,605-aferes up; on the settlement conditions, 664 selectors, taking 262,381 acres. Last year the September quarter showed 160 purchasers for cash, taking 6139 acres ; and on settlement conditions 347 selectors, taking 94,855 acres. For the halfyear in 1889 there were 3®l purchasers for cash, taking 18,702 acres ; and 691 selectors on settlement conditions, taking 197,380 acres.
