DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS.

The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday:—■ Wheat—The tone of this market still continues weak, and the prospects at present for the disposal of stocks on hand, which are not by any means heavy, are not encouraging. The operations of the’ past week are confined to a few sales of prime milling only; second-rate quality has little or no attention. Prime northern red straw 'and velvet, 3s 8d to 3s 9d ; tuscan, 3s IGd to 4s ; medium to good, 3s 4d to 3s 6d; inferior and good whole fowls’ wheat, 2s 3d to 3s Id (ex store). Oats—The market, as regards value, is much about the same as last Week, but there are evidences of a keener desire on the part of shippers to operate, and some business is passing. Owners are not pushing sales. Bright stout milling,-2s to 2s lOd; best short bright feed;- 2s 7|d to 2s 9d; medium, 2s 6d to 2s 7d (ex store, bags extra). Barley is in poor demand, and the primest samples only have any attention for malting. Prime malting, 3s 7d to 3s 9d; medium to good, 3s 3d to 8s 5d ; feed and milling, 2s 2d to 3s 2d (ex store). Grass Seeds—Eyegrass, 3s to 6s 6d ; cocksfoot, 3d to 3^d. Potatoes—Oamaru derwents, £4 5s to £4 10s.

Pigs—Well fed, up to 1801 b, 4d to 4|d. Hams, 8d to 9d; rolls and flitches, 6d to 6|d. Chaff —Well cut Paten sheaf, £3lss to £4 ; straw chaff, £2. Turnips, 17s to 20s. Carrots, 40s. Straw, oaten arid wheaten; 40s. Hay, oaten, clover, and ryegrass, 70s. Butter—Salt, little demand, and very hard to sell at any price; fresh, plentiful, 2d per lb lower. Cheese— Akaroaj4d to 4|d; factory, 6d to 6d. Eggs—Scarce.' Honey—4d to 4|d. Sheepskins—On Monday, butchers’ greph;; crossbreds sold at 4s to 6s; do merinos, 3s 8d to 4s 9d; dry crossto 5s 4d; dry pelts, 7d to Is Id; skins in bales, 4d to 6d per lb. Hides—Heavy weights, 561 b to 701 b, 2|d to 3d; medium, 481 b to 551 b, 2?d to 2|d; light, 361 bto 471 b, 2d to 2id; bulls; slippy, cut, and damaged, lid to Hd; green ox hides, 9s to 16s ; green cow hides, 6s to 12s. Tallow—Prime well got up rendered, £lB to £l9 10s per ton ; medium rendered, £l6 to £l7; inferior rendered, £l4 to £lsrough fat (mutton), £l4 to £ls; mixed, £l2 to £l3; inferior, £9 to £ll 10s.
