At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the following business was transacted : Pat Cattle—l 79 were yarded; the greater part were medium quality and weights, with a few pens prime. There was a brisk demand, and spirited bidding for all on offer, best

bullocks fetching a shade over last week’s rates ;i others fully equal to late ruling prices. Bullocks sold at £5 15s to £9, three very weights at £lO 7s 6d; cows, £4 10s to £6 17s 6d. —Mr John Grindley sold for Mr W. Grant (Elloughton), 14 small heifers at £4 7s 6d to £4.—Messrs * Wright, Stephenson and Co. ! sold for Mr A. Grant (Willowbank), 6 bullocks at from £8 to £7l2s 6d. Fat Sheep—3l33 penned, including 330 merino wethers. The quality was fully up to the average t The whole were disposed of at—for crossbred wethers, 10s to 14s 9d; two pens extra heavy do do sold at 15s to 15s 6d; crossbred ewes, 9s 3d to 14s; two pens Leicester ewes, 14s 6d to 15s 6d; merino wethers, 7s to 9s; quarterbred wethers, 10s to 11s 6d. —Mr John Grindley sold for Mr A. Grant (Willowbank) 144 crossbred ewes at 11s ; for Mr W. Grant (Elloiighton), 160 crossbred ewes at 10s 3d.—Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. also sold a line of halfbred ewes for Mr A. Grant.—Messrs Donald Reid and Co. sold for Mr John Allan (Belfield), 63 crossbred wethers at 13s 3d. —Messrs Reid, Maclean, and :Co, sold for Mr A.
