CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKETS.

At the Addington: Yards on Wednesday there was a large supply of stock yarded. ' Fat Cattle—Prices show a slight decline on. dast week’s quotations. The few prime beasts that were brought forward sold; fairly well, but for the rest the demand was anything but brisk. Best heavy weight bullocks made from £6 to £7 5s ; inferior ones from £4 to £5 10s; and cows sold up to £s.—Messrs Matson and Co. sold for Mr T; Park, 4 heifers at £5 5a to £slos, anditwo steers at £4 7s 6d and £6 ss.

Store Cattle were not in very good demand, and a good heavy line were passed in. Three-year-old steers fetched up to £3 10s, yearlings to' 255, and cows from 30g to £2 18s. Dairy Cattle—Good dairy cattle brought from £5 to £7 15s, and inferior ones up to £5 10s. Fat Sheep—A very large entry, and except for the primest lines there was a slight decline in prices. The market was topped by a line of crossbred wethers, which sold up to £ I per head, or about 2£d per lb. Several other pens also realised close on 2|d.per lb. —Messrs Matson and Co. sold for Mr A. Grant, 56 halfbred wethers at 14s to 15s. Pigs—Prices were firm at late rates. Best baeoners went from £2 to £2 13s 6d, and porkers sold from £1 to £1 15s.
