SOUTHDOWN STUD EWES

PURCHASE BY TARANAKI BREEDER. Mr. W. J. Freeth, Pukearuhe, a well known Jersey breeder, attended the annual rain fair of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, and purchased the two top pens of H. J. Andrews'. Southdown ewes, giving 15gna and 13gns respectively, states tlie Christchurch Press. He also purchased 14 from the Canterbury Seed Company. Mr. Freeth started his fiock last year with the purchase of nine stud ewes from the well known Burrell stud.
