DOG TRIAL MEETING.
GATHERING AT WHANGAMOMONA. Always a popular gathering the Whangamomona Sheep Dog Trial Club's annual meeting which is to be held on Mr. A. J. Curry's propertv. Marco Road, next Thursday and Friday is creating add'tional interest among enthusiasts this year for it carries with it the Taranaki centre championships. The club, realising the importance of the occasion, has tramed a most attractive programme including three standard events and a special local event. Each event is endowed with liberal prize money as well as challenge cups and trophies, maiden competitors being well catered for. For the three standard events, to which are attached the championships, there are championship cups and medals to be won outright. The Whangamomona course is recognised by all competitors as being one to truly trst the merits of the competing dogs and sn even line of sheep have been procured. giving each competitor an equal chance. Complete arrangements have been made by the committee to ensure smooth running. It is expected that the entries. which close on Tuesday evening, will constitute a record. A meeting of delegates of clubs in the Taranaki centre will be held a't Whangamomona on Thursday evening and the annual dance will be held in the Kohuratahi Hall on Fi-iday night.
