PRICES AT TAUMARUNUI
, GOOD DEMAND FOR CATTLE. (Special to Daily News.) Taumarunui, Nov. 6. There was a particularly large entry of cattle at Tuesday’s Taumarunui sale and, although young steers and heifers of an inferior quality were dull of sale, run and empty cows, boners and bulls were in, demand, and in consequence export buyers were not able to compete with farmers’ competition. The pigs sold freely at late rates, and the best weaners made up to 18s, ewes (with 100 per cent, lambs) all counted made 15s 4d, arid good ewe hoggets sold up to 29s 7d. Aberdeen Angus bulls, sold on account of Feilding and Palmerston North breeders, made from 16gns. to 23gns. There was a large attendance of fanners, and buyers were present from Ohura, Te Kuiti, Raetihi and Hamilton. Quotations are:— Pigs: Good weaners, 12s to 18s; small weaners, 7s to 12s; slips, 15s to 18s 6d; porkers, 30s to 355. Sheep: Ewes, with lambs, 28s Id; shorn wethers, 18s 3d; ewes, with lambs, all counted, 15s 4d; ewe hoggets, 29s 7d. Cattle: Killable cows, £4 12s; killable heifers, £4 7s; forward condition cows, £2 Is; store bullocks, £4 10s to £4 19s; empty cows, £1 10s to £3; run cows, £1 15s to £3 10s; two-year-old steers, £5 10s; Jersey bulls, £1 to £6; S.H. bulls, £6; Aberdeen Angus bulls, 16gns. to 23 gns.; yearling Jersey-cross heifers, 35s to £2; dairy cows, £1 to £4 12s 6d,
