Delivering the Budget in the Assembly the Premier, Mr. R. L. Butler, said: “I feel there is a new spirit abroad in the land and that for all there are better and brighter days ahead.” The Budget, which provides concessions for the community as a whole totalling £472,000 and a surplus of £1338, forecasts revenue at £11,218,022 and expenditure at £11,216,684.
