BANDSMEN ENTERTAIN
MUSICAL TREAT AT PATE A. Presentirig a musical programme of exceptional merit, the Hawera and Patea Municipal Bands delighted an appreciative audience in the town hall at Patea on Sunday evening. Included in the programme was a trombone solo by a juvenile" performer, Harry Croucher, and vocal and instrumental numbers by members of the party. The Mayor, Mr. F. Ramsbottom, on behalf of the band and the town thanked the Hawera bandsmen and others under Mr. Fox’s direction for their visit and their entertaining programme. Mr. W. G. Simpson, president of the Hawera band committee, expressed the hope that the Patea band, would visit Hawera at an early date. The programme included Niebelungen March (Wagner), Marmarella (Fluick), Slavonic Rhapsody No. 2, The Giants (Wadsworth), Washington Grey (Graffield), Deus Pobiscum, hymn and instrumental items by Bandsmen Pearce, Abrahams and Swan and Master Harry Croucher. Miss Ailsa Stockwell and Mr. Cyril Roberts sang and Mr. L. Fox played a violin solo.
