SLALOM RACE AT MOUNT COOK. MURPHY SECOND IN MEN’S EVENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. The New Zealand ski championship meeting was continued on Mt. Cook today, the snow being fairly firm. Results were:— Women’s slalom championship (two runs): Miss J. Beale (Stratford), Im. 36 3-ss, Im. 27 3-55., 1; Mrs. A. B. Edwards (Christchurch), Im. 415., Im. 24 l-55., plus three penalties, 2; Mrs. J. Edgar Jones (Tasman), 2m. 5 3-55., 2m. 12-55., 3. Men’s slalom championship (two runs): A. Wigley (Tasman), Im. 205., Im. 241-ss„ 1; B. Murphy (Ruapehu), Im. 18 2-55., Im. 26 4-55., 2; B. McMillan (Ruapehu), lm. 205., Im. 31 l-55., 3.
