NINE CLASSES IN OPERATION. PAYMENTS MADE LAST YEAR. (By Wire —Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. New Zealand has nine varieties of pensions in operation. Beneficiaries total 80,208, and the expenditure involved last year was £3,338,345, an increase of £188,459 from last year. Both war and old-age pensions increased last year, the principal expenditures being, war pensions £1,264,110, old age £1,518,889, and widows £296.965. Family allowances claims allowed during the year totalled; over 2000, and there were 12,321 in force last year, the cost being £152,818.
