PERSONAL AND GENERAL ITEMS. Mrs. A. R. Askew journeyed by train to Otorohanga last Monday. She is visiting her mother, Mrs. Divehall, who 'is ill. Miss Norma Mapp has returned from a Week’s holiday with Mrs. Taylor, Mountain Road, Stratford. Mrs. M. Davis has been ill With an attack of bronchitis. No damage from the gales is reported except the uprooting of some 1 young pihes. A slight sprinkling of snow, which froze as it settled, fell on Upper Radnor Road in the early hours of Sunday morning. Several sets of twin calves have been born on the road this spring. Most farmers are selling their calves as “bobbies” this year, keeping very few for rearing. It was once part of the York Road factory, and was re-erected as a hayshed on Mr. Harkness’ property, Denmark Terrace. Last week the heavy winds almost blew it over arid Thursday’s gale finished the job, flattening it to the ground.
