PLUNKET CHILDREN’S PARTY. FEED SHORTAGE ON COAST. In aid of the Okato sub-branch. of the Plunket Society, a happy afternoon was spent ih the Hempton hall on Saturday at a children’s party. Organised games were "conducted by Mrs, J.- fe. Larking, and afternoon teh was served by members of the committee. This was followed by a musical programme by the ehildreh, with Mrs. S. Woods as pianist. As a result the funds df the society were satisfactorily increased. The Okato arid Puniho Dairy Co. reverted to cheese-making on Friday of last week.
There is a distinct shortage of feed in the Okato district, ahd dairy herds are producing Very unsatisfactorily. Stock yarded at the coastal saleyards, mostly bear evidence of rigorous wiriterihg, the abnormal period of wet Weather having a ipore severe effect than the depleted fbod supplies.
