PARTY AT RADNOR ROAD

LARGE GATHERING AT SCHOOL. Another fortnightly euchre party and dance was held by the Radnor school committee on Friday night when there was a large attendance. Progressive euchre, musical items and dancing were enjoyed. The prize winners at euchre were Mr. P. Andersen and Mr. E. Vickers (after playing off with Mr. C. Davis) and Mrs. Kasper and Mrs. J. Vickers (who beat Miss N. Algie in a play-off). Consolation prizes were won by Mr. P. Rosewarne and Miss M. Askew. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. N. Mapp and Miss M. Hunt. Vocal items were given by Mrs. C. C. Davis and Mrs. and Miss Kasper (duet). Music for the dances was played by Mesdames C. C. Davis and Kasper, Miss N. Algie and Mr. J. Watson. The masters of ceremonies were Messrs. Davis and Fear. Supper was provided by a women’s committee. Birthday Party. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Tayler, Mountain Road, entertained at a birthday party for their niece, Miss N. Mapp, on Wednesday evening. The evening was. passed pleasantly with songs and games. The health of Miss Mapp was proposed by Mr. M. Davis and responded to by Mr. A. W. Mapp. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. H. Tayler, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. G. Hall, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Mapp, Mr. and Mrs. R. Turnbull, Misses Mapp, I. and M. Hunt and N. Mapp and Messrs. M. Davis and F. Tayler. Wvsonal Items. Mrs. W. Vickers has returned from Wellington. Miss Bernice Hunt left for Auckland on Wednesday evening to visit relatives at Northcote. Mrs. Divehall, Otdrohanga, is staying with her daughter, Mrs. A. R. Askew. District Hall Needed. That the district is urgently in need of a hall for its social activities was demonstrated by the large attendance at the euchre party on Friday evening. The sdhoolroom was too small to comfortably accommodate the gathering, which included visitors from Stratford, Midhirst and other districts.
