P.W.D. DANCE AT URUTI
ASSISTANCE FOR HOCKEY CLUB. The metal pit workers of the Public Works Department organised a dance in aid of: the Urpti Basketball. Club’ on-. Friday. The hall was decorated with nikau palms, ferns and red and orange streamers. The supper-room was also decorated with streamers, the tables being done with, red and .orange, jars of chrysanthemums and heather making a gay sight. The master of ceremonies was Mr. D. Telfer. Novelty dance winners were: Monte Carlo, Mr. Tim Boyes and Miss D. Reeve; spot wqltz, Mr. and Mrs. P. Thomson; mystery train, Mr. A. Grant and Mrs. Haylock; Monte Carlo, Mr. Tim Boyes and Miss Essie Short; waltzing competition, Mr. W. Murray and Miss A. Boyes. Among those present were Mesdames I S. CLIFTON PARK TENNIS DANCE. MANY VISITORS ATTEND. A large number attended the annual dance of the Clifton Park Tennis Club on Monday. Visitors were present from New Plymouth and surrounding districts. The hall was decorated with green and yellow streamers and the stage was arranged with bowls of bronze and -yellow chrysanthemums and marigolds. During the evening'a novelty railway fox-trot was won by Miss C. Wilson and partner., (The winners of a Monte Carlo waltz were' Mrs. Wood and partner. ■ .
