HEMPTON HALL DANCE
WINERS OF COMPETITIONS. The annual St. Patrick’s Day dance and euchre party was held in the Hempton hall, Okato, on Monday night. It was an outstanding success. Visitors were present from as far away as New Plymouth and Rahotu. Items which were given between fhe dances by Messrs; L. King, Christie and McKearney, New Plymouth, were much appreciated. Music was played by Misses K. and N. Goodin and extras by Miss E. Gilhooly, Pungarehu, and Mr. Tom Meredith. Messrs. M. Goodin and W. McCarty were masters * of ceremonies. Novelty dances were won W;?as follows: Lucky Gay Gordon, Miss E. Doyle, Warea, and Mr. R. Chard; spot waltz, Miss Grey, Tataraimaka, and Mr. Andrews; Monte Carlos, Miss A. O’Donnell, Marton, and Mr. ,T. Hanifan, Miss E. ’pucker and Mr. Bentham, Koru. Euchre was controlled by Mr?E. Carey. Prizes were won by Mrs., Jenkins, Miss Johnstone and Myrtle Matthews, who tied for first prize, Mr. John Goodin 1 and Mr. K. Manu 2. A competition was won by Mr. J. Aylward, Warea. An excellent home-made supper was provided by the ladies.
