FALL IN PRICES
BUTTER DROPS FIVE SHILLINGS. QUOTATIONS FROM LONDON. A drop of from 5s to 6s in the price of butter is reported in the latest cable advices from London. The cheese market is quiet, with a slight drop in both colours. Merchants’ quotations are:— A. S. Paterson -and Company, Ltd. (Messrs. J. and J. Lonsdale and Company (London), Ltd.): Butter: market dull; New Zealand 84s, Australian 83s, Danish 89s f.0.b., 110 s landed. Cheese, market slow; white 47s 6d, coloured 475. Collett and Company, Ltd.: Creamery butter, finest 83s to 84s, first 82s to 83s. Cheese, white 47s to 48s, coloured 46s to 475. Newton King, Ltd (R. and W. Davidson, Ltd.): Butter, market quiet; salted 83s to 84s (89s to 90s last week). Cheese, market quiet; white and coloured 47s 6d (49s last week). Ango-Continental: Butter, market slow; 83s to 84s.
