WAITARA DANCE RECITAL

MISS MERYL JENNINS AND PUPILS.

A dance recital held in St. John’s hall, Waitara, on Monday night under the management of MisS Meryl Jennins was well attended and much appreciated. Miss Jennins deserved great credit for the manner in which she had trained her pupils who took part. After the recital the hall was cleared and a dance was held to the music of Martin’s orchestra, there being about 50 couples present. The programme for the first part of the evening was: Russian ballet, pupils; toe dance, Ella Dowding; song, Mr. W. J. Smith; dance, “Dewdrops,” Valerai Wheeler; Pas de Defascination, Miss Jennins; Dutch, “Baggy Breeches,” pupils; Spanish dance, Grade Taylor; saxophone solo, Mr. Des George; dance, “Night,” Elsie Oliver; military ballet, pupils; Egyptian dance, Elaine St. George; sailors’ hornpipe, Marjorie Pennington; song, Mr. Murray; pas seul, Miss M. Gorrie; tap ballet, pupils; Irish dance, Colleen George; banjo solo, Mr. C. Marton; duet, Misses Winter and Murray; dance duo, G. Taylor and J. Olliver; dance pizzicato, June Barclay. The pianist was Miss Grace Johnson.
