AERO CLUB’S NEW COMMITTEE.
BOROUGH COUNCIL CONCESSION.
The first meeting of the newly appointed committee of the New Plymouth Aero Club was held last night, when there were present Messrs A. F. Sandford, N. Derby, C. Hannan, M. Dineen, J. Paynter, L. Sampson, A. Williamson and E. Pankhurst.
Domestic management of the club was discussed at length and a report was received from the secretary, Mr. S. E. Nielson, regarding business transacted at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Aero Club. Notification was received from the New Plymouth Borough Council that it hat} been decided to write off £6O 16s from an account presented for certain work dope at the airport, the club’s liability then remaining at £27 6s lOd. No action was taken on receipt of a request for advice from the Whangarei A. and P. Society regarding the organisation of an air race to the next Whangarei show, Mr. Sandford explained that the Western Federation did not favour the organisation of cross-country races. It was decided to re-establish, if possible, a pilots’ committee to assist in club executive business. After considerable, discussion the committee also decided to reduce membership fee for women to 10s 6d next year and 5s for the balance of this year to March "31. The secretary was instructed to write congratulating Mr, G. M- Spence on his re-election as president of the New Zealand Aero Club, Mr. Nielson was also congratulated, by committeemen on his re-appointment as secretary. One new member of the ' club was admitted, Mr. A. G. Fraser, Waitara, The resignation of Mr. C. H. Strong, who has gone to England, was accepted.
