DRAMA LEAGUE VISITORS.
SUPPER PARTY AT WOMEN’S CLUB. At the conclusion of the West Coast, North Island, area eliminating finals of the British Drama League at the Opera House on Wednesday evening, the judge Miss Helen Gard’ner, Wellington, and the members of visiting teams and their assistants were entertained at the Women’s Club by the South Taranaki Area Committee, the president, Mr. W. G. Simpson, welcoming the visitors and thanking the judge for her work and the helpful guidance in her criticisms. Other speakers were Colonel Brittain (Auckland team), Mr. B. P. Bellringer (Stratford) and Mrs. Uniacke (Stratford). The Wanganui team left early on their return home. Mrs. W. G. Simpson, who acted as hostess, wore a ring velvet gown in a Burgundy tone. Miss Gard’ner wore a slimly cut gown of petunia marietta with short coatee of white fur. The visitors and other guests at the supper party included Mesdames A. Parker and Geddes (Auckland), J. Deare (New Plymouth), B. Bellringer, Von Sturmer, Phillips, R. Carryer, N. H. Moss, Amess, Uniacke, Beale, and Misses Ceske and Andrea Uniacke, M. Femmell, P. Brown, M. Smart, M. Wilson, M. Phillips and J. Beale (all of ftratford); Mesdames Soull and Grierson (Wanganui), G. Duncan, P. O. Veale, A. J. Corrigan, S. A. Chisholm, A. M. Winks, T. F. McKen” e, H. G. Whitehead, W. W. Thomas, C. Twaddle, B. C. Bennett, Thomson, M. R. Jones, J. Robertson (Wellington), and Misses D. Bryant, C. Reilly, Knight, D. Corrigan, McNeill, N. Kent, N. Turnbull, McLean, ’. McCall, E. Twaddle and Mary and Veronica Quin. ,
