Mrs. C. O. Edmonds has returned from a holiday at Sydney and Melbourne. Mrs. J- Downey was hostess at bridge on Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Edmonds, senr., has left for Dannevirke and Wellington after spending several weeks at Opunake. Mrs. W. Sharp has returned from Palmerston North, where she spent two weeks with friends.

Mrs. Bunny, Masterton, who has been spending a few days with her daughter Mrs. J. Downey, has returned to the Wairarapa.

Mrs. J. Fleming, Pungarehu, will return during the week-end. She has been spending a few days at Wellington with her daughter, Mrs. J. O Meara, since her return from Sydney. Mesdames T. N. Watt, District Commissioner, and C. H. Marcroft, Opunake Girl Guides Association, attended _the annual meeting of the Taranaki Girl Guides Association held at New Plymouth.

On Saturday afternoon _ a team of Stratford women golfers visited Opunake, and defeated a local team by four matches to three. The visitors were entertained at dinner at the Waratah and at afternoon tea at the clubhouse. Mrs. Fryday, on behalf of the Stratford team, thanked the Opunake players for their hospitality received. Mrs. Marcroft replied on behalf of the Opunake team.
