FAREWELL DANCE HELD
About 70 young people met at the Foresters’ Hall on Thursday night, when Miss C. Pratt and Mr. R. Sharrock organised a jolly farewell dance in honour of Miss E. Sears, who is leaving Stratford to take up a position at Hawera.. Miss E. Sears wore a frock of red plaid taffetas with matching coatee. Mr. R. Sharrock on behalf of those present presented Miss Sears with a bedroom clock. Miss Sears responded. Mr. Tracy Boyle was master of ceremonies and Mr. H. Waite played the dance music, the piano being lent by Mr. W. Clark. Extras were played by Miss E. Wilmshurst and Mr. T. Boyle. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Isobel Schweiters and Mr. G. Whitcombe, E. Bradshaw.
