SMALL PROFIT SHOWN ON YEAR. OVER £30,000 PAID IN TAXATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the annual meeting of the Wellington Racing Club to-night the president, Mr. E. L. Riddiford, said the club showed a profit of £155 8s 3d on the year after writing off £3BOO depreciation. Pointing out that the club paid £21,790 in stakes last year and £30,421 in taxation, he asked how could a business progress with such a mighty millstone round its neck. However, he was certain the club had good times ahead of it.
Mr. Riddiford was unanimously reelected president. The following stewards were elected: Messrs D. G. A. Cooper, J. C.' Crawford, D. M. Findlay, E. V. Riddiford and Dr. P. F. McEvedy.
