FARMER’S YOUNG SON MISSING. TIMBER FOUND IN FLOODED RIVER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, Aug. 17. Robert Smart, the only son of Mr. J. G. Smart, of Rai Valley, aged about 18, is missing. Yesterday he was engaged in carrying timber over a swing bridge across the Rai River, which was in heavy flood. A high wind was also blowing. The timber which he was carrying was found downstream and it is feared that he fell from the bridge and was swept away.
