GALE OF GREAT VIOLENCE
DAMAGE DONE AT EKETAHUNA. DISORGANISATION OF SERVICES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Eketahuna, Aug. If. Eketahuna was visited yesterday by a gale of exceptional violence, the wind increasing in velocity up to midnight. Considerable damage was done, a number of old wooden buildings being wrecked. Verandahs were brought down, windows broken and board fences flattened. The electric light was affected through the night with the wires making contact. One of the main supply lines was put out of commission and the telephone service was disorganised.
