FINES FOR PAKAPOO GAMES
RAID ON TARANAKI STREET MADE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Aug. it. Fines totalling £lBO were imposed on four Chinese charged with using premises as common gaming houses. One was fined £6O and each of the others £4O. Five men on the premises without lawful excuse were each fined 10s 6d.. Six Chinese and four Europeans were arrested yesterday when raids were made on five houses in Taranaki Street. It is understood that a quantity of pakapoo paraphernalia was found.
