MIDHIRST SOCIAL EVENTS

DISTRICT PERSONAL ITEMS. Mr. and Mrs. P. Anderson were host and hostess to a very pleasant card evening on Tuesday evening, the winners being Mr. and Mrs. V. Carroll and Mr. E. Fear.

The first of a series of euchre parties conducted by the All Saints’ ladies’ guild was held at Midhirst on Monday afternoon, when there was an attendance of 60. The winners were: Mrs. G. Anderson 1, Mrs. A. Guthrie and Miss L. Trass tieing for second, and Miss L. Trass being the winner, consolation Mrs. J. Howard.

Mr. L. Baskin is on a holiday visit to the South Island.

Mr. R. Boyles is spending his annual leave with relatives at Hamilton and Putaruru..

Mr. C. Phillips and Mr. T. Bonniface are on annual leave. Mrs. C. Phillips and family are spending a few days in Stratford. Miss Jones is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. Jacobsen.

Mr. G. Jacobsen, who has been an inmate of the Stra.tford hospital, has returned home.
