An important test in broadcasting arises from the of the boxing promoter Jeff Dickson to sue the British Broadcasting Corporation for an infringement of copyright by broadcasting a description of last night’s British Empire fight between Petersen and Harvey. Dickson, when permission to broadcast was sought, asked for 1000 guineas, but the corporation offered’ 100 guineas. The negotiations failed, and permission was refused. The corporation last night repeatedly announced that it was broadcasting a Press Agency copyright report.
