KOHURATAHI DISTRICT NEWS

IMPROVEMENTS TO SPORTSGROUND A complimentary social evening and dance was tendered women residents of the Kohuratahi and Whitianga /alleys by the committee of the Kohuratahi Sports Club, in the Whitianga school on Friday night. Items were contributed by Mrs. G. Gower, Miss J. Naim, Miss G. Connor, Mr. C. Corbett, Mr. and Mrs. J. Harre, Messrs. J. and D. Stockwell, E. Hill and J. Lawrence. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr. E. Spencer and Miss S. Willis, and Mr. D. Willis and Miss E. West. Music was supplied by Mrs. Connor and Mr. C. O’Dea. Extras were played by Mrs. J. Carver, junr., and Miss G. L. Connor. Mr. W. Fraser was master of ceremonies.

Judging by the enthusiasm shown by members in attending working-bees and practices, the present season should be successful for the Kohuratahi Football Club. For some time members have been working at the Marco sportsground making various improvements to enable a full size ground to be laid out. A seven-a-side tournament will be played on Saturday when several teams will compete for silver badges.
