PLUNKET WORK AT MANAIA

The annual meeting of the Manaia branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Presbyterian hall on Tuesday when there was a good attendance of members and friends. Mrs. Corkill presided. Mrs. Stevenson, Opunake district representative of the society, was welcomed by the president. . The balance-sheet showed a small credit balance, and thanks were due to all who had assisted in making the .year’s working a success. A vote of thanks was accorded to Nurse Thom, who gave assistance to the mothers during the year, to the auditor (Mr. J. Crompton) and secretary (Miss T. Elliott) for their loyal support. Election of officers for the ensuing year are as follow: President, left to committee; vice-president, Mrs. Lawson; t committee, Mesdames J. Crompton, Cryer, Au ton Browning, F. Gamlin, W. J. McDonald, Fairbrother, Long, Instone, Davies, A. J. Christie.
