MANAIA TENNIS AND CROQUET

ANNUAL MEETING OF CLUB. DECISION TO REDUCE FEES. There was a large attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Manaia Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Thursday night. The president (Mr. Armitage) apologised for absence and the Rev. R. Miller presided. The chairman reported that the tennis season was successful from the playing and financial points of view. HAWERA OPERA HOUSE. “JUST MY LUCK” TO-DAY. The collaboration of Ben Travers, Ralph Lynn and Jack Raymond resulted in the scintillating “Mischief,” and a similar collaboration has produced “Just My Luck,” to be presented at the Hawera Opera House to-day at 2 p.m., to-night and on Monday night. While the picture was being produced' the farce which it elaborates was being played at the Aldwych Theatre, London. This meant that Ralph Lynn, Winifred Shotter and Robertson Hare were working double shifts in the studio by day and in the theatre by night yet the picture is delightfully crisp and the humour is fresh and sparkling.
