KAIMATA FOOTBALL CLUB
FLOODLIGHT FOR PRACTICE. A meeting of the Kaimata Football Club was held at the Kaimata hall on Friday night. Those present were • Messrs. I. V. Buchanan (president), R. ; Klenner, W. Moir, G. Peters and K. Riley. The president stated that the season had been very successful, and that the two forwards, H. Klenner and J. Stachurski, who were chosen for. the Schneider representatives had acquitted themselves well. In the Waitara match against the Central Taranaki junior representstives H. Klenner Rad. been mentioned by several as the outstanding player on the field. For next ydar he would like to see a floodlight installed ' so that the team could practise at night ' and gain combination, especially among the backs. Mr. R. Klenner, secretary, said that the finances of the club showed a credit of a few pounds as a nucleus for next season. The club’s jerseys had been . lent to the Schneider representatives for their matches and three jerseys had been . damaged beyond repair. It was left in the hands of Mr. Moir i to make inquiries regarding the cost of installing a floodlight at the school, j i Members thought it too late in the season : to hold another gathering to raise funds : for a floodlight. ‘ A very enjoyable evening was given . on Friday by Mr. and Mrs. Len Dobson < at their residence, Suffolk Road, m aid 1 of the Kaimata candidate, Miss Nina i Hunt, in the Anglican queen carnival. ; There were nearly thirty guests. The evening was spent with cards, games and J competitions. The winners of the pro- ; gressive five hundred were Mrs. E. Hunt 1 and Mr. H. Dobson. Consolation prizes were awarded Miss Alma Trigger and I Mr. H. Hunt. A very amusing papertearing competition was won by Miss 1 Rita Dobson after tying with Mr. E. Dey. Miss E. Burkhart, who has been spend- i ing an extended holiday at Wellington, has returned to her home, Junction 1 Road. Mrs. F. Adlam, Junction Road, is visit- 1 [ing. Wanganui. At a meeting of the young ladies of i the district on Thursday afternoon it < was decided ’to hold a spinsters’ ball < early next month. <
