TAINUI TENNIS CLUB MEETS. The annual meeting of the Tainui Tennis Club was held on Monday night. Mr. A. C. Richards presided over a good attendance. Officers elected for the ensuing year were: President, Mr. A. Bartlett; chairman, Mr. A. C. Richards; secretary, Mr. D. Montgomerie; committee, Misses F. Northern, M. Wolfe and E. Cowper, Messrs. K. Bryant, J. Waters and L. Bartlett. It was decided to hold the opening on Labour Day. A working bee was organised to put the courts in repair for the season. Mr. D. Montgomerie donated a cake for a competition to raise funds for the necessary improvements. Medical Association. A well-attended meeting was held in the Mokau hall on Saturday to discuss holding a bazaar in November in the Mokau liall to raise funds for the Mokau-Awakino Medical Association. Mrs. J. McNeice presided. Mrs. D. Black, secretary to the association, assisted. It was decided to have a sewing and fancy goods stall, a produce stall, and an ice cream and sweets stall. The stall-holders were appointed; stall-hold-ers are to canvass for theii' own wares. An offer from the Maori members to conduct a stall containing articles made by the Maoris was accepted. A committee was appointed to provide lunch and afternoon tea in the hall. A dance is to be held in the evening, music to be supplied by Mrs. J. McNeice and Mr. L. Bryant and the Mokau Maori String Band. Personal Items. Mrs. L. R. Jones has returned from New Plymouth. , Miss Rutherford has returned to Wa- I nganui. i Miss Joan Buckley has returned to New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Guild Richards have returned from Te Kuiti.
