TALLOW, HEMP AND EGGS. FRUIT PRICES EASIER. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated August 19, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow: Market continues quiet with values nominally unchanged. Hemp: Manila—Market easier but steadier, at the close. “K” grade for August-October shipment sold at £l5 10s. Output from January 1 to July 31. 620,000 bales against 519,000 for same period last year. Stocks in the. United Kingdom at July 31, 11,764 bales against 27,842 bales same time last‘year. Stocks in Manila at. July 31, 118,000 bales •against 135,000 at same time last year. Sisal: Market steady. No. 1 for Septem-ber-November shipment quoted sellers £lB 2s 6d. New Zealand: Market unchanged. Stocks in London at July 31, 111 tons against 125 tons same time last year. .... Eggs: Market is very firm and outlook is promising. English national pack, 14s 6d to 17s 6d; English, ordinary pack, 14s to 15s; Danish, 10s to 13s. Fruit: Market slow. Current prices are :Granny Smith, 14s; Dougherty, 10s 6d to Ils 6d; Rome Beauty and Brighton, 9s to 10s; Statesman and 8s to 9s; Stunner, Jonathan, and Winesap, 7s 6d to 8s;. Cleopatra, 6s to 8s; Newton Pippin, 6s 9d to 7s 9d. Otago applest Jonathan, 8s to 8s 6d; Newton Pippin, 9s 6d to 10s; Sturmer, 8s to 8s 6d.
