NEW ZEALAND NORTH-SOUTH PAIR. Z SUCCESS OF AUCKLAND MEN. ’ By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Two Aucklanders, Messrs. C. Bruce Smith and V. J. Parkinson, have won the New Zealand national section for the north-south pairs in the world contract bridge contest in which there are 109,000 entries from 46 countries. The contestants on May 1 played a number of hands specially prepared by the committee controlling the contest. The successful New Zealand pair in the eastwest division has not yet been announced.
