MILITARY SPORTS TO BE HELD. At a meeting convened by the committee of the Okato Troop Q.A.M.R. representatives of the Egmont troop, Legion of Frontiersmen, Okato Rifle Club and 11th Taranaki Regiment were present. The business of the meeting was to discuss holding a military sports meeting at Okato. The proposal met with general approval, and a strong committee was formed to make arrangements. A shoot was arranged for the week-end at the Seaview range, between the Rifle Club, Legion of Frontiersmen, Mounted Rifles and a team from the infantry. Several legionaires and officers of the Defence Department from New Plymouth were present at the meeting. The formation of terraces on the southern bank overlooking the baths is being carried out. This improvement should be appreciated at future swimming sports and will give a pleasing appearance to a rather unsightly bank. The competition for the feather pillows given by Mrs. W. Gray for the Melanesian mission fund was won by Mrs. F. W. Roebuck.
