BOOM IN BUILDING TRADE
BIG FIGURES .AT INVERCARGILL. VALUE OF APPLICATIONS £167,636. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. Something in the nature of a boom has occurred in the building trade in Invercargill since the inception , of the Unemployment Board’s No. 10 scheme. To date the number of applications for subsidies under the scheme received at Invercargill totals 105, the cost, including labour, totalling £167,636 The cost of the labour is estimated at £49,241. ' The majority of the applications are for new dwellings and alterations and 1 additions to business premises.
