. -EUCHRE AND DANCE PARTY.. The fortnightly euchre party and dance was held at Mangamahoe Hall on Friday night. First and second prizes for ladies were won by Miss K. Wasley and Mrs. Monk. Mr. Dodunski and Mr. J. Drinkwater secured the men’s prizes. . The Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss E. Christiansen and Mr. E. James. Miss K. Wasley played for the dance, and extras were contributed by Messrs. Walter Peterson and Brooking. Bride-Elect Honoured. In honour of -the approaching marriage of Miss E. Ashman, a kitchen evening was held in the Korito schoolroom on Saturday night, the building being packed with frierrcis and well-wishers. After supper, Mr. B. Herbert, master of ceremonies, called on the guest of the evening to accept and open the numerous parcels. Mr. C. Lilley responded and the couple were accorded musical honours. Mr. Hugget conveyed good wishes on behalf of the residents of Mangamahoe, and dancing was resumed until midnight. Misses Mavis and Phyllis Keast contributed humorous recitations which were much enjoyed, and Mr. Hugget gave songs. Miss M. Weir danced a Highland fling. Miss P. Keast and Mr. R. Uncles won a Monte Carlo dance. Miss W. Snell played for the dancing, and extras were played by Messrs. W. Ashman and B. Herbert. On Thursday evening the Anglican Bible Class tendered Miss E. Ashman a gift evening at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. B. Herbert. Personal and Social.

A vote of sympathy was passed at Mangamahoe dance for Mrs. Fabish, who is an inmate of New Plymouth Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Woodward have returned from their holiday. Mr. and Mrs. G. Savan are visiting relatives at Korito.

Mr. E. Miles, Ngatea, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. T. Snell.

Mr. and Mrs. C. Allen, Turua, former residents of this district, their sons and Mr. W. Williams have been visiting friends at Korito.

Miss B. Baker spent a few days at Korito.

On Tuesday night the Bible Class, with a social hour, was held at the Mangamahoe Hall by the Rev. R. S. Keenan. Supper was provided.
