Some very close estimates of the actual ■weights of animals were made by winning entrants in the weight-guessing competitions held at the recent agricultural show in Auckland. The winning competitor guessed 6751 b as the weight of the bullock,. the correct weight being 6761 b. In estimating the weight of the pig, which was 93|lb, three competitors guessed within Jib, two guessing below and one above. In estimating the weights of the cow and the sheep the figures were equally close. That this was not just the result of luck is proved by the fact that several of the. winning competitors are well-known buyers.
