(From Our Own Correspondent.) A private farewell was tendered to Mr. and Mrs. J. Hunter at Mrs, H. Clarke’s residence on Saturday night. Cards and music provided entertainment, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter were asked to accept gifts in memory of their stay in Rahotu, Mr. Inder making the presentation. Mr. M. Hill endorsed Mr. Ind.er’s eulogies. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter left for Eltham on Sunday. , \ Mrs. E. Poole and her children, with friends, have been spending a holiday at a beach cottage at New Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Small, with their family, have gon by car from New Plyinouth to Wellington on their way to Timaru, where they will visit ..Ir. Small’s brother. Mrs. L. King Hon and her daughter Winnie have returned from China and are at Wellington. Mr. and Mrs, Rolf Shepherd spent the week-end with his aunt, Mrs. J. Colmer.
