RETURN OF ARCHBISHOP

EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS VISIT. GOOD TRAVELLER AT 94. > By Telegraph.—Freis Association. Wellington, Last Night. Archbishop Redwood returned by the Rangitata to-day after having attended the Eucharistic Congress at Dublin. Although his age is 94 travelling apparently holds no terrors for Archbishop Redwood, 1 as during the trip abroad he took the opportunity of making the journey from England to Rome, and back. Among those who greeted him to-day were Archbishop O’cihea and a number of clergy. "As regards the great Dublin Eucharistic Congress,” said the archbishop, “it was the sight of my life. No words can express its grandeur and vast, significance. As a display of Catholic -faith it was worthy, and more-than worthy, of such exhibitions of faith in. the long and chequered history of Ireland, the land of saints.” ■ ’ . , ; Father Smyth, who accompanied- Archbishop Redwood, returned with him. Just prior to the congress Father Smyth became ill and remained in - hospital throughout the celebrations. He paid a short visit to Rome and spent some weeks at Limerick.
