BALLAST TRAIN WRECKED
RUNAWAY on the spiral. TRUCKS LEAP INTO GULLY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, Aug. 5. Fourteen trucks and the guard, s van of a ballast train broke away from the engine on the Spiral at 9 o’clock this morning and careered down the hill, leaving the rails on a bend and piling up' in a gully. The guard, J. Lyons, escaped with a shaking and a few bruises. „ Repair gangs were sent from una,kune and Taumarunui. The 1 line will probably bo blocked for some hours.
