LORD BLEDISLOE’S GOOD WISHES.
CONFIDENCE IN SPORTSMANSHIP.

Wellington, Last Night. The New Zealand Rugby football representatives left by the Marama this afternoon for Australia, where they have a programme of ten match engagements to fulfil during the next few weeks. The members of the team received miny farewells during the past few days, and good wishes for an enjoyable and successful tour have been showered upon them, A very large assemblage - gave the team a rousing send-off at the wharf this afternoon.
During the tour there will be three tests against Australia. The team is due back in New Zealand early in August. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, has sent a message to Mr. W. J. Wallace, manager of the All Blacks, wishing ths team the best of luck. Lord Bledisloe says that he is confident that the spirit of clean sportsmanship/ keenness and ( unselfishness in striving for victory, for which the New Zealanders enjoyed a well-merited world-wide reputation, would inspire all the players in the tests ■against their friendly rivals in'Australia.
'Lord Bledisloe regretted that the team would just miss seeing the New Zea-land-Australia football trophy, designed by New Zealanders and executed by British craftsmen, which arrive* from England to-day.
