NEW PLYMOUTH ATHLETICS

FINAL EVENING MEETING. B. A. BLACK IN FINE FORM. The last of the weekly evening meetings for the season conducted by the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club was held on the Pukekura Park sportsground last night. Great interest was taken in the appearance of S. A. Black in the 220 yards handicap, where he was conceding G. Sullivan and N. Webster 10yds. He was a little slow to get into his stride but he put in a wonderful 'burst of pac© at tbe finish. and. failed, to get to Sullivan only by a yard. As the time recorded was 21 seconds Black must have run the distance in 21 1-5 or 21 2-5 sec.—a splendid performance clearly demonstrating that he is still improving. Following are the results: —
