NGINGONGINGO SENSATION
CONFERENCE RESERVES VIEWS. LETTER' FROM THE PRESIDENT, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The following letter has been sent by the president of the New Zealand Trotting Conference, Mr. H. F. Nicoll, to trotting clubs: — “You will have read in the newspapers, if you have not already received a copy, a statement issued by the president of the New Zealand Trotting Association in connection with the Ngingongingo case. The contentions as set forth on behalf of the association may be open to criticism, but it is desirable that the prestige and authority of the New Zealand Trotting Association should be upheld so far a* may be possible, and it would not be seemly that any argument should ensue in connection with the resignation of the majority of the members of the association until the matter has been discussed and finalised by the New Zealand Trotting Conference. “The executive of the conference is satisfied that the delegates appointed by the clubs to attend the special meeting of the conference on January 21 will be°able to deal with the business on its merits when the facts are placed before them.”
