TWO KILLED: THIRTY INJURED. LIFEBOATS CALLED TO SEA. British Wireless. Rugby, Dec. 19. Two were killed and 30 injured in a railway collision during a dense fog late last night at Dagenham (Essex), when the 9.20 p.m. passenger train from Fenchurch Street, London, to Tilbury ran into the Tear part of a freight train between the Barking and Dagenham Dock stations. The engine and four passenger coaches were badly damaged and four trucks were also derailed. One passenger and the guard of the freight train were killed. . , Rescue work was rapidly organised, but was hampered by the fog. The Dungeness and Hythe lifeboats replied to a call for asistance this morning, when the steamers Sea Glory and Rondo were in collision in a heavy fog. It is believed that the Rondo suffered only slight damage and that the Sea Glory, which v.as holed, was able to proceed’ to Dover with the lifeboat in attendance.
